Description

Crowley, Aleister

Weiland and Co., London, 1913. Hardcover. First edition. Features a photograph of Leila Waddell and one of Crowley on a donkey. An important and cryptic work. Crowley said “this book deals with many matters on all planes of the very highest importance. It is an official publication for Babes of the Abyss, but is recommended even to beginners as highly suggestive.” With an attractive bookplate, on the front paste-down along with a small printed Weiser Inc bookseller label, neat small pencil price on facing leaf. Although used this book is in amazing condition for it’s age, I have not seen a finer example. Near Fine.

The Book of Lies (Liber CCCXXXIII). Which is also Falsely Called Breaks. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perdurabo, which Thought is itself Untrue. 116 + 15 pages of advertisements + i.Priced at one guinea when issued. It’s rumoured that the book may actually have been published in 1912 based on an advertisement in the September 1912 edition of The Equinox announcing that the book was now ready.
