An extraordinary work unsurpassed and now scarce and rightly highly prized!

The Gnostic Mass is an incredibly deep, complex, multi-layered ceremony. It beckons our ancient, primal identity with the Generative powers of Life, and it plays out a symphony of correspondences between history, symbolism, art, mysticism and Magick. Since the nature of the Mysteries is that they are, by definition, not exhaustible or completely explainable through language, there is therefore a theoretically infinite amount about them that one can say or write. Nonetheless, one with wisdom and experience can give indications of certain avenues of understanding, symbolic explications, Qabalistic formulae, and mythological correspondences to aid and guide the aspirant in understanding and more fully participating in the Gnostic Mass. Grand Master Sabazius X° has done exactly this in this Mystery of Mystery.

Mystery of Mystery was first published as Red Flame No. 2 in 1995 e.v., and reprinted in trade paperback format in 2005 e.v. This revised edition was first published in 2014 e.v. In this new, revised and expanded version you will find a previously unpublished essay by Aleister Crowley on Sir Richard Francis Burton, expanded and revised essays on our Gnostic Saints and a new chapter on the public sacramental rites as used by E.G.C. in the U.S.A. This revised edition includes a number of of minor corrections and updates, these include a fairly substantial number of revisions to the footnotes to the Gnostic Mass and various biographies of the E.G.C. saints. Some of the lengthier notes have now been converted to separate essays: “The Thelemic Calendar”; “The Collects”; and “Gestures Referring to Parts of the Body.”
